Why can't I get Soul ____ for PVP?

I used to play this game several years ago. I recently started playing again and I'm trying to PVP on my level 16 character, however I am never able to get Soul Dust, Soul Fragments or any other Soul currency. I search for players of my level and rating within town, as well as having Skirmish Mode turned off. When I fight and win, this is all I get:

How am I able to get Soul?

How am I able to get Soul?

When you attack a character that's lower lvl than yours there's a chance to NOT get any gem drop. Try to hit characters at your level or higher for guaranteed drops. Rating doesn't affect drops btw.
