What do I do now???
« on: 21:40:06 - 03/18/12 »
I haven't played in probably 2 or 3 years now, & I've logged in & wonder what do I do now? lol I'm currently a level 38 Wizard. What kind of deck build should I be using to beat most dungeons for farming at my level? What skills should I focus on to be ready for end game? Attached is a picture of my stats.

Pretty much each fight of each dungeon needs its own deck from this level on. I suggest the first thing to do get a couple essential scripts like ExtraGears. Check here for some scripts and links. Then, start finishing all those +hp and +spirit skills, feels like you're far from having all of them done, and lvl40 unlocks more:P

That's it. Finish getting your character complete, THEN start farming dungeons. My opinion.

Cheers

edit: these are the scripts that I have, which are mandatory for ME: AllinOne, Mind Tricks, Available Skills, Wiki Links, Charm Requirements. I have more but less important.

which ones specifically would you suggest I start on first? What do I need to focus on to get my character complete? Having been gone for so long, I'm a complete noob again. I almost wish I could reset & start over again, but doing things right. lol

There's no real order to complete these skills.. I would start with extreme gathering skills. It's a long and AP consuming process, but it's the simplest, too :P It'll give you time to research/get help on what to do next.

Your battle skill tree is awful, start mastering everything below R3 to that level before it's too late (especially summoning, holy, iron will and sap).
Also you're fucking-mega-seriously underfarmed for your level. 702/187? You should have that before becoming Tier 1 class. Buy some useful vendor charms for a quick start and go back to Escorting Chopley for vita banishment crafts, Night Cloak and Vicious Stab, which will help you later. Then farm everything above it, here's a full list of dungeons.
Explorer and Treasure Hunter skills are a must, so gather in many cities in search of exploration sites and points in extreme gatherings.
Don't do any jobs at all, except those which allow movement to other cities = increased dungeon farming potential. Also stop pumping every stat point into power, because you're already 30 points above the requirements of Glorious Fire Staff, and it's a 40lvl craft. Inrease your dex instead, or you won't be able to use spirit and banes!
Generally there's MUCH more to do than that.

Perhaps counter to what the others are saying - first level up to 40 as quickly as you can, and start quaffing daily elixirs to rebalance your stats. Then do that other stuff - Shalq's advice is good, do that stuff, in that order.  Try not to be too wasteful with your cash too, you should have a lot of it coming in from the arena fights you'll be doing for battle skills, but t3 charms are myriad and expensive, so if you buy a charm make sure it's because you want it, not just because it's there.

Uh, yeah - and have fun.

What was written up there sounds more like grinding, but it'll make your life much easier once you are through with it.
Anyway - don't start with extreme gathering. For that you need to actually win the fights. Just try discover some of the easier sites and keep running them for the Adventurer skill, it gives loads of HP.
Then pick one dungeon - Chopley sounds like a good start indeed - run it and spend rest of the AP in Arena, battling against highest monster you can win against (moar gold, later on you will treasure every penny) - try to be maxing 5+ (3+ when u done with the most crucial ones) skills at once. (Don't worry I was getting Axe from R2 at l46 - but it's just as annoying as Extreme Gathering and with only grinding 1 skill but of AP waste as well.)

If you want, throw in some group dungeon as well - since you'll be in Lumina for Chopley I'd suggest Triland for the discovery sites - it has plenty of easy ones even underfarmed, and Gaea's with Wildhowl for occasional group dung runs - they are easy enough to beat, just make sure you have the right cards based on the group name - use wiki, it's your best friend.
GreaseMonkey is the second best (1st for lazy guys like me) - list of all the add ons made is here, made by Powerslave. I personally use ... all of them...

Pelmel of all this should make the game enough appealing to you even at your current state ;)

@Arimith and levelling - with that many skills you gonna finish, that will come pretty soon IMO. obviously make a good use of elixirs to fix ur stats :)
(ooh and read Wizard forum here, and check out Vaults - you got some nice new charms there, but you'll probably have to farm a bit first, before you can beat the dungeons to get the crafts - but just to give you idea what are you gonna be capable of ^^ )

Here is my Suggestion:

1.) Find a guild first like , W.A.N.G., H.I.T. or even Cheese dip, but there are many guilds in estiah so try joining which you prefer.

2.) uhmmm

3.) hmmm.

4.) just farm charms.
Warassasin uses [Rapier]
Warassasin gains 1 extra action
Zazeezee takes 1146 melee damage

(ooh and read Wizard forum here,

There is no link for the wizard forum. I'd love to check it out as I do plan on going pyro when I can which is what I was building towards. I'm currently working on getting all of those rank 1 & 2 combat skills leveled up. Several of them have already been worked up.

wow you really don't see that pyro thread just below yours?  You can find a lot of fighter->wizard->pyromaniac tips in that topic, as most of the pyros refuse to pick novice->sage path (auras+projection) and choose pure burst instead.

I did see the Pyro forum, but when he said wizard forum I thought he meant one dedicated only to wizards. I've been looking through the pyro one, & I've also been working up my battle skills as suggested. I've just completed spirituality, & I'm working on a couple of others now with my Hooded Black Knight

Hey Uraxor!  It's Boozie from TFW.  I finally started playing estiah again.

One thing I wanted to ask about is people stressing how hard it is to skill something later on from lower skill levels.  Is this because newer charms have min skill requirements?  Most of the charms from the shops don't have this requirement.  While you'd be wasting gold, am I missing something else?

Out of curiosity is there a discussion somewhere about the criteria for skillups?  Like do # of times that type of charm is played matter vs total damage done or anything?  I'm only level 33 still trying to skillup a few skills I neglected and it is slow going.  If I add additional charms that are low level and do little to nothing, can they still help me skill up provided I win the fight?

There are several reasons, and one of them is:

Obviously the answer to this question is yes. The problem that you probably encountered here is that you can't add anything better (better = dealing more damage, giving more defences etc) to your deck, that will help raise up "forgotten" skills, and you're forced to use some crappy low level charms.

Btw, it's really not about damage and raw numbers, but rather the amount (sometimes percentage) of specific runes and/or effects (depends on which skill we're talking about) used in a fight.

Standard battle skills are based on the percentage of runes in your deck (compared to number of charms played - double rune charms are good for training)

Could you clarify this a bit (or provide a link)?  I know it probably reads spot on but I'm not fully comprehending.  Trying to discern the impact of what's in my deck vs what I actually played.  I would assume all that matters is what I played.

# of axe played / total played
