Cheating?

We recently had a case in Alternative Heroes of someone swapping 50 alts with a friend to master Mentoring Rank 5.

When he made this public in the shoutbox I kicked him from my guild.

He pm'd me to ask why and I explained that I felt he abused the system for HP and I didn't want my guild to profit from that. I said that I'd be willing to give him a second chance if it was an honest mistake and he didn't know it was wrong but it would have to be with a different alt because that HP he earned would benefit the guild and it was tainted.

The response I got surprised me.

"Thanks for the 2nd chance, but I think I'll pass. (don't have another alt anyway)
Yea, couldn't see it, but your explanation makes sense, even though I don't think it's any abusing.
The only other way to get r5 mentoring as I see it is to bother every single person you know to play/just level up account here - I've tried to get in as many people as possible the 'official' way, but it just isn't possible (and besides the only outcome usually is that they just are upset). So we've just made this up with a friend together.
As I've just leveled (and gathered to speed it up) on them, without any selling, or without any further progress on them (and if there was any way to delete accounts I'd delete them now) I think it's just fairly earned few HPs, considering the amount of time invested. It's just a way how to farm Mentoring as is fighting Arena mobs for another HP skills.
But of course I respect your point of view ..
well it's a pitty, I liked it at A. Heroes but from now I guess (once I grow up, lol) we're gonna meet just on battlefield, unless I happen to join a guild with some of your alts ..

Well you have to keep in mind that mentoring isn't a skill that people are supposed to level it's a benefit for people who recruit to the game and aid the game's growth.

I myself am working on rank 4 mentoring all earned fairly and I will get to rank 5.

I hope you understand that and I don't think you'll be accepted to many guilds since you can't see whats wrong with that. I assume the other guilds are also not very keen on cheating and word travels fast.

If you feel that this abuse shouldn't be encouraged, please keep Uraxor out of your guild.

Besides : Mentoring 183 / 260 here, fairly (and when I inherited some chars that were my apprentices, I removed their apprenticeship).
So I wouldn't say this isn't possible.

I am only at 141/260. Which is odd because I am the most bad-ass dude in the game. I demand more peons to follow me.


But yeah, that is dumb. I hope he gets banned. Or at least loses all the points from it and gets that skill blocked out or something. And his buddy.

I've seen people give up characters and I wondered what happened if they inherited their own apprentice, I didn't realize you can remove them but I just took a closer look after reading this. that's a handy feature. so theres really no excuse for someone leveling their own apprentice.
 Thats not exactly the case in my guild, none of the apprentices were actually his but they were all made only to level for the mentoring skill which is just abuse if not flat out cheating. Either way I don't want that anywhere near my guild :/

And now I see someone is posting on the forum like the whole guild approves it and would follow suit. They'd be banned so fast their heads would spin off if I find out about it.

This should totally be investigated and result in a ban if found to be true. I think it goes against the spirit of:

Players are allowed to have several accounts to raise their characters in different ways, but cheating behavior such as boosting the main character with support ones is NOT allowed.

It wasn't his own alts brian, it was his "friend's" but both of them creating 50 alts is some other kind of abuse. I think they both at least should get their mentoring HP stripped with no chance of regaining it since they gave up on the idea of getting the skill for helping the game.

I am *close* to Mentoring R4 with Schutz and I never cheated in any way. Shitloadz of Apprentices Lv. 1. Don't know how.

I can attest to this. I have been very close a couple of times of incurring the wrath of frilly due to leadership issues . But we work things out in the end so maybe it is all just for show.

Thats pure crazysauce.  A bit harsh with the cheating acusation and boot from the guild.  This is a silly little game that to occupy more than 5 min of time a day requires alts.  I dont have anyone to mentor at the moment but the 4 carr im playing are all mentored to someone.  I never actually hear from them in any way and they just sponge off my levels.  So he and a friend leveled alts to get the skill up, woopie.
